Effect of <sup>4</sup>He<sup>2+</sup> ion irradiation on the optical, electrical, morphological, and structural properties of ZnO thin films

Abstract A study of the effect 2.5 MeV 4 He 2+ ion irradiation on optical, electrical, morphological and structural properties ZnO thin films is presented. Polycrystalline zinc oxide were deposited soda lime glass substrates using spray pyrolysis technique. During process, substrates’ surfaces kept at 400, 450 500 °C. The samples analyzed by different techniques optical results showed a red shift in energy band gap after irradiation. It was also confirmed that wurtzite-type hexagonal structure remained irradiation, crystallite size increased lattice parameters decreased due to SEM micrographs revealed favors nucleation formation grains films. Micrographs nanometric particles with spherical flake-like forms, which depend deposition temperature. decrement average particle 400 °C observed irradiation; meanwhile, an increase detected film resistivity values
